AMD, age related macular degeneration is now the major cause of blindness in Britain today. It has two related forms. Neither can yet be cured.

Wet AMD (wet macular degeneration) can be arrested by expensive regular injections.

Dry AMD (dry macular degeneration) cannot yet be treated by medical intervention.

I have a professional insight into AMD

I contracted both forms of AMD.

So I have my personal experience to draw on.

I have now recovered from dry AMDand can explain how to manage both wet and dry forms of AMD. My fund of knowledge of AMD is better than most.

Wet AMD seriously affected my right eye in 2001 when I was 66 years old.

At that time no treatment had been developed.

Experimental laser surgery cost me the central vision in that eye.

Dry AMD also began to affect my left eye at about the same time. There is no medical treatment for this condition. The advice I was given, and already knew was to take anti-oxidizing supplements - and hope!

In April 2007 I learnt of an inexpensive product that should protect against developing AMD.

It was not then nor is it now marketed to help a recovery for those already affected by AMD. It consists soley of a blend of carotenoids (food supplements).

After a year on this product I had recovered from most of the problems of Dry AMD.
